Scambusters, Preventing Internet Scams & Phishing Attempts

This blog is dedicated to help preventing internet fraud and internet scams. Scambusters was a radio show I started in Albany Oregon, but due to defaulted payment by the radio station we took the show offline. Regardless of this issue we still wish to help prevent internet fraud and save people from internet loss. I have been interviewed and featured in various publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times & Daily News, The London Times & AARP Newsletters. Please watch this blog for latest tips and tricks and scams to avoid.

I received the same email ... I just opened it and realized that this is a scam. First of all, it was sent from a yahoo account and not from a company account. Second, too good to be true. Third, it is from France.

Thanks for posting

Yeah, also received the same email. They did go a step further as to set up a website with a .png image (very uncommon of course) that says the site is down for maintenance. This way they can use the @internationalcom.net email addresses. Same scam, same poor use of the English language in the letter, just worked out one little kind in their process. I can't imagine anyone ever falling for this but I guess they wouldn't do it if nobody did.

Me too. Mine came from Noah Woods. Some lame Yahoo! email account, not a business email as was stated previously. There are so many of these out there nowadays.

I received the e-mail with the name Fallon Curry. There really is a Fallon Currie who is has an international marketing consultancy with offices in London and Switzerland but his name is spelled CURRIE not CURRY. And as with others, this person used a yahoo account. Brilliant.

Just Remember to take the email addresses from these people and remove the first half before the @, and instead type abuse@internationalcom.net and also abuse@yahoo.com then forward the whole email to these email accounts. Yahoo will investigate.

I received the email this morning, but to make it all the more confusing, the sender's email was janewilson@int-commoditytr.com, not the usual yahoo addresses.

here is how they will scam you. they will give you their banking details to make payment to your credit card. once you purchase and send out the items, they will call the card company and say the payment was unauthorized. so you will be out of the money they are suppose to pay your card with plus the purchase of the items. anyone wanting more information call me. 808-349-2689

Why is this scam not on other web-sites?
Why are the major banks like Chase, BofA, Amex, Discover and Wells Fargo banks shying away or refusing to help its defrauded longtime clients from this ICB scam??
