Scambusters, Preventing Internet Scams & Phishing Attempts

This blog is dedicated to help preventing internet fraud and internet scams. Scambusters was a radio show I started in Albany Oregon, but due to defaulted payment by the radio station we took the show offline. Regardless of this issue we still wish to help prevent internet fraud and save people from internet loss. I have been interviewed and featured in various publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times & Daily News, The London Times & AARP Newsletters. Please watch this blog for latest tips and tricks and scams to avoid.

Craigslist Scam >: We are out of Free iPads - Here is a $1000 Apple Gift Card

I am not sure about this recent rash of Craigslist Scams.  They used to come every couple months, now I am getting at least 1 a day.  Here is another one...  Scam / Phishing / and sign up for useless spam as well as having to pay money to get services you don't want and need to help the OP get his free gift.

We ran out of free iPads to give away.  To make up for it we would like to give you a $1000 Apple store gift card.  You can use this gift card to buy any Apple product through Apple's website or at any of their stores.  Gift card can be used to purchase an iPad, an iPhone, an iPod, a Mac or a MacBook.  Gift card can also be used on iTunes.  Please visit our gift card sign up page here and just follow the directions.  We will send you the gift card within 2-3 business days.  Once again sorry for this inconvenience.  We hope the Apple gift card makes up for the mistake on our end.

Thank you for understanding,

Jenny Simons
